Professionally Bernthaler has found encouragement and enthusiasm a key factor to getting those on task as well as some general humour that students appreciate. He further feels that personalising the discussions and talking about the students interests has helped them to mature as they carve a familiar outlet to convey new thoughts and experiences.
A good grasp of technology and its inspirational use in the classroom is something that Bernthaler is looking forward to using during his future years as a teacher . The step up some visual aids can give to those requiring help to grasp a concept or spatial problem that the visual arts can produce, is well promoted when using such tools as PowerPoint and other computer based visual tools. Furthermore he intends to develop some accessible websites for students to find the resources needed for some of the work he is proposing. The use of the internet to give students access to worksheets, program details, assessment guidelines and other class activities, is not only professional but leads environmentally as a healthy and good example.
